Mission Statement

Mission Statement: Second Chance was formed in May 2015 in response to a need in our community for court ordered programs, especially domestic violence, by Holly Crisera and Albert Milian. Al has a Master’s degree in Secondary Education and Holly a Bachelor’s degree in Mental Health and Human Services. Together, we bring our education and work experience to provide a psychoeducational program. Both of us have attended training in The Duluth Model at The Domestic Abuse Intervention Project in Duluth, Minnesota. Although Al now has a passive role in the business, Holly is still part of a Coordinated Community Response Team in Citrus County, Florida. Our motto is “Everyone deserves a second chance”.

Purpose: Our goal is to provide a quality Batterer Intervention Program that helps to keep victims safe and offenders accountable. Violence is learned behavior and we hope to give participants in our groups the opportunity to examine their belief systems and begin to choose nonviolent alternatives.

Policy: We believe in maintaining a professional environment by treating others with respect and dignity. While trying to build a rapport with our clients, we strive to create an atmosphere that is conducive to critical thinking, through our use of the men’s and women’s nonviolence curriculum.
